The Labour Management Manager, Core Operations contributes to the achievement of improved store P&L by supporting initiatives to improve bottom line growth and/or reduce store operating costs through management of reporting processes, and refinement of labour productivity standards as required. This role specifically supports Regional Labour Management Analysts and interfaces with Store Operations to ensure cost effective store level execution on all programs, processes, and initiatives.
Accountabilities:
Initiate and manage best practice reviews in order to identify opportunities for improvements to labour productivity and associated bottom line growth and/or cost reduction across all formats.
Collaborate Labour Management Operations to develop an optimal labour plan that achieves desired retail targets and objectives, while minimizing the store labour required to deliver the specified execution at store level.
With input from operators, set labour productivity targets (labour hours per $ sales), store structure guidelines (number of each job by department, function, format, etc.), and scheduling processes and guidelines. Measure actual labour costs, identify variances and initiate action to reduce/eliminate them.
Support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of systems, labour standards, and other tools to enhance labour productivity.
Ensure the provision of training, coaching and troubleshooting in the use of tools.
Provide input on labour initiatives and results to operational scorecard for each format.
Provide input into the development of annual store labour budgets by department and in total store, and monitor these targets as required to ensure their attainment.
