DIRECTOR, PRICING ANALYTICS (12 month contract)
Role Mandate:
The Business Unit Pricing Analytics Director is responsible for the analysis, development, recommendation and management of competitive pricing strategies for a business unit. It is also responsible for recommending effective methodology to strategically adjust pricing in order to optimize sales, profit and turnover.
Accountabilities:
Develop and recommend pricing strategies that will achieve maximum sales and gross profit without negatively impacting the business unit. Monitor key pricing metrics such as our competitive price index so that BU can meet its by format price position target Support seasonal initiatives to ensure that all pricing strategies support the achievement of sales and gross profit targets for the format and meet its overall pricing targets
Analyze and recommend exit pricing strategies for the BU on all seasonal and discontinued items
Recommend KVC (Key Value Categories) and KVI (Key Value Items) through consumer research, our own sales data and other consumer data (i.e. AC Nielson household penetration data)
Work with the Price Check Director to ensure that price check activity provides accurate data on which to base pricing analysis and recommendations

Gather insight into our competitors? pricing strategies so our pricing strategy recommendations can be successful within the current competitive landscape
Support category deep dives and other strategic initiatives with ad hoc analysis
Review formats and BU?s value messages so that it supports the formats positioning and maximizes the credit we receive for the value we offer
Role Requirements:
Post secondary education or equivalent experience
5-10 years experience
Previous retail experience an asset |
