| Basic Requirements: |
You require sound knowledge of standard accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, methods, practices and performance measures combined with a sound knowledge of financial research methods and techniques. You must have a strong knowledge of computers and software applications related to costing, budgeting and associated functions, and familiarity with relevant cost control systems. You possess strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills. You must have the ability to analyze financial records and reports, locate errors and recommend solutions to problems. You require a sound knowledge of Commission policies and procedures as it relates to staff recruitment for the Department.
These abilities would normally be acquired through community college graduation in Accounting, Business Administration or other relevant field, or the equivalent, combined with prior work experience in a similar or related job that includes an annual cycle pertaining to the preparation of operating, capital and workforce budgets. You must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees. |
